Timing and duration
The statue of unity is closed on Mondays and entry is open 8 am to 6 pm, from Tuesday to Sunday. Averagely, you can expect to spend nearly one and a half hours at this site. Daylight hours are always preferable for visiting nearby attractions such as Sardar Sarovar Dam and the Valley of flowers, so you can keep your visit to the statue and museum approaching sunset. If you want to avoid the crowd, you should consider visiting between Tuesday and Friday.
Reach early on crowded days
If you have the basic entry ticket to visit the statue of unity, you may have to wait for the elevator for a significant period to reach the observation deck, especially on weekends. Get there as early as possible to avoid such an issue.
If you are visiting the statue of unity with an express ticket, you may find it better to visit early, as it will provide you sufficient time for exploring the cenotaph as well as surrounding attractions and you will be there on-time to enjoy the laser show at 7 pm.
Carrying food is not a good idea
You are not allowed to carry food items beyond the entry point. You will get to see a food court there as well as other fast food options at the monument. You can try some if you want and consider whether you like it or not. You can also purchase bottles of water at several locations within the site.
Statue of Unity Ticket Types
The basic entry ticket cost Rs 150 for adults and Rs 90 for kids within the age of 3 to 15 years, including access to the gallery, museum, valley of flowers, sound and light show, Sardar Sarovar Dam viewpoints, and bus service.
Viewing gallery ticket cost Rs 380 for adults and Rs 230 for kids, including all the benefits of a basic entry ticket plus access to the viewing gallery placed 500 feet above the ground, providing a panoramic sight of the majestic Sardar Sarovar Dam, the 256-kilometer long reservoir along with the marvelous Satpura and Vindhya mountain ranges.
Express entry tickets cost Rs 1030 for adults and kids, offering all the benefits of viewing gallery tickets plus priority, no waiting access to the viewing gallery.
Foreigner express entry tickets cost Rs 1530 for adults and Rs 830 for kids. Only non-Indian tourists from overseas countries can get these tickets, it includes all the benefits of the express entry ticket.
Book your tickets online
You can easily book your tickets online; it saves your time and effort. It is always recommended to carry a soft or hard copy of the ticket, as you may need it at various points within the site, especially while ascending the viewpoint elevators. If you consider an online booking, you need to do it before the day of your visit.
There are elevators and translators installed, so the tourists need to walk less. You can easily get hop-on AC buses from and to adjacent attractions. As a Statue of Unity ticket holder, you will get free Wi-Fi, providing 34 MB free data and you can purchase more if you want.
Safari rides, helicopter, and boat
If you want an aerial view of the monument, you can consider a 10-minute helicopter ride. A ticket for one person costs Rs 2,900; you can get it on location. A helicopter carries 5 to 7 individuals at one ride, available from 9.30 am till 1 hour before sunset every day, except Mondays.
Boat ride for one hour in the Narmada River is also available on location, charging Rs 290 per head. Jungle safari cost Rs 200 for adults and Rs 135 for kids, children’s nutrition park, riverfront cycling are among other attractions.
